During the 2008-2009 school year, TJHSST will continue to participate in the national pilot project to bridge the gap from high school to college through a new design for Advanced Placement courses that provide for the delivery of instruction primarily via the Internet. Classroom instruction is enhanced by electronic delivery systems that include a series of advanced, culturally-based learning modules available to students with virtual classroom capacities. Students study the use of language for active communication, specifically to understand spoken Russian in both formal and conversational situations, and to be able to express ideas both orally and in writing with reasonable fluency. Students will read literature selected from both classical and contemporary works. Upon completion, students take the Advanced Placement examination.
