Our language programs emphasize reading, writing, cultural awareness, and (for the spoken languages) oral communication skills. Students must earn at least 3 credits in one foreign language to meet the graduation requirement. It is recommended that students continue in higher level language courses which are offered in 10, 11, and 12 grades. These upper level courses also satisfy the one-credit fine arts requirement.
Any student without a level 1 credit, who wishes to register for any course beyond level 1, must take a placement test. Contact the division manager during the spring before freshman year to arrange for the placement test.
